Turnover of proceeds of non-performing housing loans of the National Home Mortgage Financing Corp. (NHMFC) to the SSS and the Pag-IBIG Fund. Vice President Noli “Kabayan” De Castro, concurrent Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), congratulates Atty. Romero Quimbo, president and CEO of the Pag-IBIG Fund, after the formal turnover of the proceeds of non-performing housing loans amounting to nearly P500,000. Atty. Joseph Peter Sison (right), president, National Home Mortgage Corp. made the formal turnover who likewise remitted to SSS, some P3.76 billion of proceeds. According to VP De Castro, the turnover will be a big boost to the financial strength of both the SSS and the Pag-IBIG Fund and will serve as good news to its millions of members who will ultimately benefit from its financial strength. HOUSING FOR SOLDIERS. Vice President and concurrent Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) chairman Noli ‘Kabayan’ De Castro leads the ground breaking ceremony of the “Kalinga sa Kawal” program, a housing project of the Philippine Army (PA) for poor soldiers, with the support of HUDCC and Gawad Kalinga (GK). The “Kalinga sa Kawal” project in Fort Magsaysay is just one of the initiatives to segregate a portion of military camps for off-base housing for enlisted military personnel. Present were Lt.
