ON THE SAFE RELEASE OF
ROBERT TARONGOY:
Ako ay lubos na nagagalak at nailigtas mula
sa matinding panganib ang ating kababayang si Robert Tarongoy. I
congratulate the Philippine Crisis team in Iraq, led by Foreign Affairs
Undersecretary Rafael Seguis, for successfully working for the safe
release of our brother. Kayo ay nararapat lamang saluduhan at bigyang
parangal sa inyong sakripisyo, kagitingan at pagiging epektibong
tagapamagitan sa krisis na ito.
This feat should remind us that our
government, despite the controversies hounding it, continues to work
for the welfare of each citizen, unperturbed in attending to the needs
of the nation. Be assured that our government, under President Arroyo’s
leadership, remains focused in bringing this country to peace and
progress.
Sa pagbabalik ni Tarongoy sa bansa, ipakita
natin sa kanya na ang kalayaan na kanyang natamo matapos ang halos
pitong buwang pagkakabihag ay isang okasyon ng pagdiriwang. Huwag natin
hayaang makita ni Bobby na ang kanyang bayan ay isang bihag din ng mga
politikal na interes at ambisyon ng ilan at sadlak sa krisis ng
pagkakawatak-watak.
To Bobby, I wish you and your family well.
