ON THE DEATH OF JAIME CARDINAL SIN

Once more, in just a few of months after the passing of the much beloved Pope John Paul II, the Filipino Catholics are in deep mourning after our much revered and respected Jaime Cardinal Sin passed away early this morning.

Indeed, they were two powerful spiritual voices who have dramatically changed the social and political landscape of our country, who shepherded their flock, and who have left lasting legacies that will surely be remembered by coming generations.

It saddens me that Cardinal Sin passed just days after we celebrated Father’s day for he was truly a Father to us all, both Catholics and Non-Catholics alike. His views and insights were always sought especially in the dark hours of our nation’s history. He was the guiding light that illumined the Filipino spirit.

Tayo ay talagang pinagpala dahil ating nasaksihan at naranasan ng 30 taon ang buong pusong pagsilbi at pagpapastol ni Cardinal Sin sa ating lahat sa panahong dumanas ang ating bayan at ang mundo ng maraming pagbabago. 


Sa iyo mahal naming Cardinal Sin, alam naming ikaw ay nagbalik na sa ating Dakilang Lumikha.  Ang buong sambayanan ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa mga nagawa ninyo sa mga Pilipino.
